Unthawed

Where is my life,
O where did she go?
Under those layers
Of teary spun snow.

Where is my love,
O where did she go?
Missing for years,
Fern-forests know.

The ferns and the roebuck,
Blood-berry below,
The fragile will bend
From the weight of the snow.
